Mount Vital Supports The Water Project

There are so many great charities out there, and we were looking for a charity to support, so we could in some way give something back! Of course, at Mount Vital our interests are definitely in water quality, so when we found The Water Project we knew we had found the charity we were looking for. The Water Project lets you know where your donation is being used and sends updates of the project, through to completion. Our recent donation went towards a well for the Masindi / Jinga community in Uganda.

Nearly one billion people lack access to safe drinking water worldwide.

The Water Project is a 501(c)(3) organisation that’s bringing relief to communities around the world who suffer needlessly from a lack of access to clean water. This excellent organisation is currently funding water wells, rain catchment systems, latrines, community mobilization, and sanitation and hygiene training in Africa and India. Their work is a cooperative, grass-roots effort between their supporters, donors, partners in the field, and the communities they serve.

After a new water project is completed, and a community has access to clean water, everything changes. Women no longer spend hours searching for a source of water. Children, especially girls, return to school. Water-borne illnesses are reduced. Hope is restored.
